Stephen Youngerman

Mr. Youngerman earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin School of Law in Madison, Wisconsin, and has been practicing law since 1979. He is licensed to practice in the State Courts of California and Wisconsin, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern and Eastern Districts of California and Arizona. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Youngerman specializes in insurance-related law, with an emphasis on analysis and litigation of coverage matters, the defense and prosecution of first party claims, as well as defending complex litigation involving vehicle, construction, product liability, environmental, business torts, and professional malpractice claims. He has represented parties nationwide in complex multi-party mediations.

Mr. Youngerman has litigated matters in both federal and state trial and appellate courts. He regularly conducts lectures on topics of “bad faith” defense, insurance fraud, the California Administrative Regulations and commercial coverage issues.

Thomas B. McNutt

Mr. McNutt received his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1971 and his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University School of Law in 1975, where he was a member of the St. Thomas Moore Honor Society. For almost 35 years, he has represented clients in the areas of product liability, motor vehicle accidents, toxic tort and environmental litigation, construction litigation, professional negligence, complex business litigation, premises liability and general liability matters.

Mr. McNutt has represented clients in product liability cases involving a myriad of products, including automobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, tires, heavy equipment, forklifts, presses, industrial machinery, aerosols, solvents, adhesives and other chemicals. He has also represented clients involved in automobile and trucking accidents, premises and general liability claims. In the construction arena, Mr. McNutt has litigated delay claims, construction defect issues and personal injury cases. His business litigation experience includes unfair business practices, false advertising, defense of Consumers Legal Remedies Act claims, business torts and breach of contract. He has represented lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, doctors, hospitals and governmental entities.

Mr. McNutt has handled more than 50 jury trials in both state and federal courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
